Order of Activities:
The following is a list of daily activities completed in the classroom back at NEMS. If an assignment is highlighted, it is an assignment Jackson should be able to participate in.

Day 1: Introduction, rules, classroom procedures, grading policy
Day 2: Setting up notebooks/warm-ups, class jobs, World Map Activity, Location Notes
Day 3: Scantron Pre-Assessment
Day 4: Create a Map Activity
Day 5: 5 Themes of Geography Notes, Standard Deviants Learn World Geography - North America, Ho!!! (DVD will be mailed)
Day 6: Western Hemisphere Atlas Activity (will be mailed)
Day 7: North America Culture Organizer (U.S.A., Canada, Mexico)
Day 8: Location BCR, 1,000 Places to See Before You Die DVD (Clips from Canada & Mexico)
Day 9: Quebec, Canada (1. View Maryland Eastern Shore PowerPoint and discuss how in 1994 Sen. Walter Baker proposed that the Eastern Shore secede into Delaware. 2. Read articles on secession in Canada. 3. Complete writing response/t-chart)
Day 10: Bead Activity (I will attach the documents for this. This was a lab, but it will require materials (string, beads, scissors, ruler) and a few other people to participate. The goal of this lab is to understand the different types of economic systems - Traditional, Command, and Market)
Day 11: Economics PowerPoint
Day 12: Location & Types of Maps Quiz (I gave this to my students without the use of notes. For the whole week the homework was to study for it.)
Day 13: U.S. Poverty Video w/ Questions (This will have to be mailed as the video file is too large to upload to the website), Economics Poster
Day 14: Economic Freedom Notes (PowerPoint & fill in the blank notes), Economic Freedom Questions, Economics - Supply & Demand
Day 15: Push/Pull Factors Discussion Activity (1. Class had a discussion about moving. "Have you ever moved? If so, why?" 2. Examination of migration graphs. 3. What are costs and benefits? What are the costs and benefits of babysitting? 4. Push/Pull Factors scenario)... I will attach a detailed lesson plan for this.
